Melbourne Ballroom has four events a year where teachers and their students get to show off their talents and skills. It is the culmination of a great deal of time and effort. There are two different types of events that a student can enter. One is the freestyle event and the other is the solo routine. A freestyle event is when several couples head out on to the floor at once to dance the same dance. Here we see different levels and different steps all being danced at the same time. A solo routine is a choreographed sequence of dance moves done to a specific piece of music. This allows for more creativity and only that couple is peforming on the dance floor.
After the freestyle and solo routines are all performed we sit down to a well deserved meal for about an hour. After that bit of rest, we get right back up and dance the rest of the night away. One bonus at the Showcase Saturday Night Party is that our fantastic staff of professional dancers put on a show for those who attend.
These events generally start in the mid afternoon and go on until about 10:00 at night. you can come to all or part of the showcase depending on your schedule. Please review the showcase options and choose the package that best suits you to reserve your seat
Admission to the showcase: $15.00 from 2:00 to 6:00
Showcase Dinner: $25.00 6:30-7:30
Showcase Saturday Night Party and Proshow $10.00 from 8:00 to 10:00 with proshow at 8:45
