Group Classes: There are no refunds once a class has begun, but we will be happy to exchange. There is no credit given for missed classes. There are no make-up classes.  We always review what we taught the week before. You may take a private lesson as needed. All students must sign in before starting each group class. In order to ensure the safety of all our students, students must wear shoes with good support to participate in classes. Students will not be permitted to participate in socks or bare feet. Sneakers, rubber-soled shoes, and shoes that “flip-flop” are discouraged. MELBOURNE BALLROOM reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient attendance. If a class is cancelled you will be issued a studio credit or a full refund. MELBOURNE BALLROOM reserves the right to engage substitutes for classes when the regular teacher is absent. No credits or refunds will be issued in this case. MELBOURNE BALLROOM reserves the right to bar any student from entering class or to remove any student from class due to disorderly conduct/disruptive behavior or for any other reason determined by management as unsuitable behavior. If you are late to class by 20 minutes or more, the instructor has the right to limit your participation. The instructors of the group classes must teach to the median level of ability in any class situation. Sometimes a class may seem paced too slowly or too quickly for you personally. If you are uncomfortable in your class, please find time to talk to us. We will work with you to find a better situation for you. Group classes must be completed during the current cycle. There are no carry-overs from one session to another.  If group classes are too fast or too slow for you, you may transfer the remaining balance to private lessons. Students must obtain permission from instructors to advance to the next level of group classes. Students under eighteen (18) years must have written permission from a parent to participate in group classes if not accompanied by a parent.   Private Lessons: There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you must cancel your lesson please give your instructor a full days notice so he or she has the opportunity to schedule someone else in your place. If you cancel late you will forfeit the lesson with the exceptions of an illness or emergency. A private lesson does not assure a private room. Typically, the space is shared with other private lesson students who may be learning other styles of dance and playing other styles of music. Different music may be rotated on an equal and shared basis. Private lessons students must be sure to initial their lesson block by the end of each of their lessons. All private lessons are 25 or 55 minutes long. The lesson time includes a 5 minute review of the lesson plan for that day and 5 minutes for the teacher to prepare for the next student. This ensures that the next lesson will begin on time.  The same courtesy will be extended to you before your lesson. Students under eighteen (18) years must be accompanied by a parent on private lessons. Private lessons may be transferred to other students. General: MELBOURNE BALLROOM is not responsible for loss of, or damage to, personal property. There will be a $25.00 fee charged for returned checks. MELBOURNE BALLROOM and its instructors are not liable for any injuries sustained while in class, or on the premises. Please notify instructor(s) if you have any concerns about physical problems or injuries. Always work at your own pace. We appreciate any effort on your part to encourage your friends and acquaintances to begin dancing at Melbourne Ballroom. They are welcome to observe any group class or your private lesson. Rates and schedules are subject to change without prior notice. Please turn your cell phone off or on silent during classes and lessons. MELBOURNE BALLROOM reserves the right to refuse service to anyone that does not follow the above guidelines. Now that you have read our policies, let's go on to the fun part and dance!
